The story of Iquitos began with a shared passion among a group of biologists and educators, united by the mission to make the complex beauty of the Amazon understandable to everyone. Our first course, launched in 2018, was a series of local workshops in Iquitos, Peru, focused on identifying bird species. The community's enthusiasm was the catalyst that led us to digitize the content and create a globally accessible platform.
Since then, we have evolved significantly. In 2020, we established partnerships with research institutions in the Amazon basin, integrating cutting-edge scientific data into our modules.
